You know that as you grow older, hormonal changes can cause your prostate to enlarge. However, also, there are many dietary changes that you may need to make to not only improve your quality of life, but also, to help your prostate function well. Certain nutrients have been discussed as aiding in prostate health, as well as vitamin supplements and other methods of naturally keeping things flowing. Here, we’ll go into a few more foods that you can bring into your diet that will help you to maintain much better overall and specifically, prostate health.

As we discussed, bringing Lycopene into your diet is vital to the health of your prostate, and foods like tomatoes, red berries like strawberry and raspberry have quite alot of the nutrient in them. You may also want to begin to take a dietary supplement that is specially formulated for men’s health and those generally have a good amount of lycopene in their formulas. Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamins A, E, and C are also other vitamins that should be a part of your overall nutritional profile. Another important addition to your diet can be quercetin, which is a flavenoid found in green tea, red grapes, raspberries, broccoli, spinach and other leafy green foods, and onions. This flavenoid also has anti-inflammatory properties which can often ease the pain of a swollen, inflamed prostate.

To ease bladder related issues, it is always a good idea to remain well hydrated. Drinking things like cranberry, blueberry and apple juice, guava nectar and cutting back on coffee and alcohol will also be highly beneficial. Some have found that drinking the juice from steamed asparagus helps, but many others still yet find that cranberry and those other juices work just as well.

Though you may be having issues with frequency of urination and not particularly feel like continuing to drink and drink- you need to remain as hydrated as possible to flush toxins from your system and prevent infections, particularly when it comes to prostate health. Being sure to drink at least sixty four ounces of water daily and continuing to maintain a balanced diet will enable you to fight off any oncoming infection, and help your body to prevent more. The best way to keep yourself from getting infections in the first place is to really beef up your immune system and often, food based nutritional sources are best.

There are not many at home remedies for issues relating to enlarged prostate, because once it does get to the point where the symptoms are problematic, the best course is usually antibiotics and similar treatments. However, keeping your diet healthy and maintaining an adequate fluid intake can prevent further problems, and keep you from getting to the point where treatment is needed. Talk to your doctor during your next routine visit about other ways that you can keep your prostate healthy at any age.

Food hygiene is all conditions and measures necessary to ensure the safety and suitability of food at all stages of the food chain, encompasses a wide range of measures that can be applied from the growth of food products and the raising of food animals, through harvesting and slaughter, processing, delivery, storage and final sale. However, for many, food hygiene will be equated with cleanliness; the cleanliness of food premises and food handlers.

Whilst the cleanliness of those who handle food and their equipment and surroundings is essential for good food hygiene to occur it is only one of the measures necessary if food is to be safely prepared.

Of equal or perhaps even more importance in maintaining good standards of food hygiene is the avoidance of cross-contamination and good temperature control. Cross-contamination is the passing of food poisoning bacteria from contaminated, usually raw food to ready-to-eat food. Such cross-contamination can occur in three ways, direct contact of e.g. raw meat with ready-to-eat food, the drip of raw food juices such as blood onto a ready-to-eat food and the use of unwashed hands or equipment to handle both raw food and ready-to-eat food.

Good temperature control is essential if satisfactory standards of food hygiene are to be achieved. In most investigations that occur following the outbreak of a food-borne disease a failure in temperature control is identified as one of causes of the event. Foods which are suitable media for the growth of pathogenic (disease producing) bacteria – mainly moist high protein foods such as meat, eggs and dairy products – must be kept either cold or hot. They should not be allowed to languish in the danger zone between 5°C – 63°C for any longer than absolutely necessary.

This means that good food hygiene practices will include the correct storage of cold food at 5°C or below and hot food at 63°C or above. Good food hygiene will also require that food is properly cooked and if not used straightaway that it is cooled quickly to 5°C and if reheated later that this is done quickly to a good temperature.

As far as cooking and reheating temperatures are concerned for potentially contaminated foods, like raw meat and poultry, the usual recommendations in food hygiene textbooks is 75°C for 30 seconds.

Besides cleanliness, temperature control and the avoidance of cross contamination food hygiene measures will also include a safe supply of water for food preparation and cleaning, pest control and the proper training of staff in the principles of food hygiene.

The modern approach to food hygiene puts considerable emphasis on food safety management systems, which are designed to provide assurance that the correct food hygiene practices are always in place. So food hygiene really is a wide discipline and its implementation requires commitment and investment in time and money by those who carry the responsibility of providing and preparing food for consumption by the public.

There are two sides of the same coin. You may have heard arguments on both sides regarding healthy foods and fast foods. You may have asked yourself one time or another, are all fast food fat foods? Can you binge on fast food without worrying about your health? How can you eat fast food and still stay healthy? Most of the food offered by fast food restaurants are deep-fried or heated up in the microwave. These processes of food preparation take minimum time unlike home cooked meals. As a result, most fast food products have high calories and are practically swimming in trans-fat.

If you take all of these into consideration, then yes, fast food is fat food. Health experts have grounds why they are against eating fast food products. On the other hand, it does not mean that you have to forego fast food altogether to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Fast food restaurants were a hit because they serve food in minimum time, in good taste, and in lesser price. So how are you going to make the two ends meet?

When health issues were raised, fast food restaurants come up with possible solutions to make their menu appealing to health buffs. They added salads, fresh fruit, and white meat to widen the selection of their consumers. Also, nutritional facts are made available so that people would have an idea how many calories are in their orders. These restaurants are doing their part but why is it that they are still being blamed?

You should know when to stop eating fast food, if you want to live a long life, you. Moderation is the key. You cannot have burgers and fries all the time. If you can’t stay away from fast food, check out the other side of the menu. Instead of a Big Mac, why don’t you order a regular burger? If a regular burger is not good enough for you, just avoid add-ons like cheese, bacon, or mayonnaise sauce.

Other add-ons can be tasty without the fat like onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mustard. Skip additional toppings in your pizza. Even though a slice of chocolate cake makes your mouth water, better order a low-fat yogurt or ice cream for dessert. Lastly, forget about the upsize promo. It will save you from calories and save a few pennies too.

There are a lot of areas in a restaurant business which needed scrutinizing. There are areas of primary concern that an owner or manager should always look after. The good service, food and affordability are just one of the few restaurant concerns. Nobody really knows what are going to be the major changes that await restaurant owners and restaurant businesses but the trends with food are certain to grow and improve and even evolve in the next coming years.

Today, there are about 4 out of 10 restaurant diners each day. That means; more and more people find it easier, comfortable and fast to dine at restaurants at least once a day. Because of this increasing interest and changing diner traits, restaurants should also adjust and make sure that they serve only the freshest, safest and healthy food for their frequent customers.

In the following restaurant and food trend, Self-medication and disease-free food is the top requirement. It’s not all about the taste of the food or the look of it that matter to customers but also, the healthy benefits it gives off. Customers who are health-conscious would know whether the fresh vegetable you serve is really fresh. As the restaurant owner, you wouldn’t want to have your business affected by comments as small as this one. But all small things grow to be big so watch out for this part.

Speaking of freshness would usually appeal to most customers especially when you have a wide selection of freshly baked items, salads, sauces and other produce. Your customers will benefit the same health and nutrition goodness by serving the mentioned fresh selection. This doesn’t only increase your restaurant’s “health consciousness” reputation but customers will find it even safer to dine frequently because of the clean food.

Thailand is a Third-World country, but the capital city of Bangkok certainly doesn’t fit your mental picture of what a Third-World country should look like.

Do you want to spend a million (U.S.) dollars on a condominium? No problem. There are hundreds to choose from.

Ever experience the desire for a Starbucks coffee, McDonald’s Big Mac, or a 7-11 hotdog?

Don’t worry; they’re all here in Bangkok. In fact, there are about 4 thousand 7-11s in Thailand.

Starbucks now has 100 locations.

McDonald’s won’t let you forget that they’re here.

So, on a “Western Level,” Bangkok is very civilized and it’s not the only city or beach area in Thailand that reminds you of home, or at least the big city.

Having lived in Bangkok for a few years now, I was shocked to learn about a report from the Thailand Public Health Ministry, a.k.a., The Health Department.

In just the first 3 months of 2008, over 250 thousand people in the Kingdom of Thailand have been reported to be sick from eating and drinking contaminated food.

A total of 37 people have died from the contaminations.

The public is being warned about diarrhea, food-poisoning, typhoid fever, cholera, and rabies.

The Public Health Ministry of Thailand says, “The hot weather and drought are perfect conditions for germs and bacteria, particularly in places where hygiene and sanitation are inadequate.”

Street vendors seem to be a bigger source of possible food contamination than the established store fronts, but a recent inspection of restaurant cutting boards revealed that almost 50 percent of them are contaminated with bacteria and fungi.

If you are in the United States, you take for granted how regulated the food industry is.

In many parts of the world, handling meat, bread, chocolate, donuts, and other food items with the sellers “bare hands” is quite common.

Go to the weekend market in Amsterdam and buy bread and meat. They just pick it up and put it in a bag after they handle your “clean” money. It’s just the way it is and Holland is not a Third-World country.

I admit that I have had diarrhea after eating a meal occasionally, but it is all apart of the greater experience.

Carrying hand sanitizer that contains Ethyl Alcohol is a smart idea and when I know I’ll be dining from a stall vendor or at a public fair, event, or market, I usually have a small bottle with me.

I’m not paranoid about the health issue, but I am happy to see that the government agency is addressing the issue and suggesting steps to help reduce the problem.

Thailand is a country of about 65 million people and millions of people from all around the globe visit this warm and friendly paradise. Personally, I love living in Bangkok and I know the city like the back of my hand, having spent a lot of time here since 1991 and finally moving here in late 2004.

High temperatures do mean a greater chance of getting ill from unsanitary conditions, but don’t let news like this keep you from a fabulous place to vacation, shop, or retire.

Just a mention of common sense; if it looks dirty, it probably is; if the food isn’t cooked thoroughly, you might have some discomfort later; and wash your hands often, ’cause you’ll never know when or if I’ll be shaking your hand.
