** How Do You Clean Charcoal Grills?

Empty the ash container in the bottom of a charcoal grill after each use once the grill has cooled. If ashes accumulate, the grill will begin to rust, which will quickly damage it. Place the ashes and used charcoal in a trash bag immediately to contain the mess. Make the cleaning process easier next time by coating the grates with cooking oil spray before grilling.

** What meats are best for smoking?

Smoking is a low and slow process of cooking that uses smoke to add flavor and to tenderize meats. Smoking usually lasts for more than an 30 minutes a pound, but can be longer. Many good, lean cuts of meat would dry out and become inedible after being cooked for this long. However many really bad cuts of meat, full of fat and connective tissues (Collagen) come out tender, flavorful and down right delicious. Barbecue is based on cheap, bad cuts of meat. The meats of barbecue are generally beef brisket, pork shoulder and ribs.

These meats are tough, chewy and generally so poor in quality that they are undesirable for cooking. Barbecue takes advantage of the high fat and connective tissues in these meats to make them great. During the long, slow cooking times of smoking the fat melts and the connective tissue breaks down. This sweetens the meat and keeps it moist during smoking. Good cuts of meat like pork tenderloin, a steak, or a good lean roast don’t benefit from this type of cooking and should be cooked differently.

If you are new to smoking I suggest a small pork shoulder roast like a Boston Butt or a picnic. Ask your butcher, he’ll know what you’re talking about. These cuts are generally forgiving and relatively inexpensive. As you learn you can move to larger and more difficult cuts and before you know it you’ll master the art of true barbecue.

Have you been making the same old barbecue recipes whenever you have a family barbecue? Do your friends and neighbors seem to be getting tired of the barbecue you are cooking for them? It sounds like you should find some new barbecue recipes to prepare. There are many different delicious barbecue recipes that are also healthy. You should try some of them so you can spice up your barbecue meals.

Try putting some fruit and vegetables into your barbecue recipes. For example, you could use pineapple and cucumber in your recipes. If you do, you will have delightful barbecue that not only looks great but also tastes great and will impress your loved ones. When you use fruits and vegetables, you are adding vitamins and minerals to your meals. You will get rave reviews from your loved ones who are concerned about their health.

Find a way to make your meat taste better. A lot of people put the barbecue sauce on before they start cooking the meat but that only works if it is on at least 12 to 24 hours. Otherwise, the sauce cannot soak into the meat and make the meat taste better. That way you get the most flavor when you grill. You can keep the meat in the fridge while it is soaking to avoid spoiling. You also want to make sure your meat is tender or people are not going to want to eat it. The best way to do that is to make sure you marinate it long enough. You can use white wine in your marinades if you wish. If you want your meat to taste good, you need to find a good marinade recipe. Also, you can choose young and fresh meat to cook to improve the taste.

If you want delightful barbecue that tastes good, you can add some spices. It is possible to make the marinade on your own instead of buying one that is already made. That way you can put extra spices and seasonings, as well as onions, peppers, and garlic. It is also going to make for delightful barbecue if you put some pineapple juice in it to make it tart and tasty, not to mention healthy.

When you are barbecuing next time, try some new delightful barbecue recipes that your family and friends are going to love. With the right barbecue, you can have a great party.

A barbecue is a simple piece of equipment for cooking food with the heat and hot gas of a fire, smoking wood or hot coals of charcoal. You would usually have a charcoal barbecue or gas barbecue. Apparently, most people believe the barbecue come from the Caribbean where the food was either put on a platform above the fire and resting on sticks, or placed in a hole dug in the ground and then covered. Barbecuing is widespread throughout the world from The United Kingdom to Korea and the United States of America and has various regional variations. It actually tends to be a social event when friends gather and have fun. There is actually a world championship barbecue cooking contest taking place in Memphis in the United States of America every year in May.

Cooking meat, fish, vegetables or anything else on a barbecue is more of an outdoor activity as a barbecue would usually create a lot of smoke depending on who is cooking and with what. When cooking food on a barbecue, you should be aware that whether you use wood, charcoal or gas, your food will taste differently.
Actually more and more people are buying gas barbecues.

Apart form that, you can now find very useful BBQ tools that will be greatly helpful for cooking without burning your hands every time you try to turn a piece of meat and so making a barbecue an even more attractive outdoor activity. You would still have to be careful when cooking food on a barbecue though! People tend to forget that not properly cooked food can get you into trouble as you could have eaten bacteria. So do not forget to make sure you cook your meat properly, wash your hands and the different surfaces really often… Basically, be careful when you cook food on a barbecue and make sure you think about doing it the clean and safe way.

Another interesting debate is to know who is usually controlling the barbecue between men and women? And according to some psychologists, men would tend more to want to control the barbecue as it would allow them to play legally with fire. All this going back to prehistoric times where the fire was such a vital resource.
